A Little History ...

My love for labs began in a duck blind in 1971, and I trained my first gun dog while in college circa 1980. Life happened, and in early 2004, Roux, a chocolate male, came to us.  I was away from home working when Debbie picked him up at the airport.  After just one night, Deb told me, and I quote: “This one is different.”  Neither of us knew then just how right she was.

After failing the first 4 derbies in the first series, Roux, in spite of my training, went on to become an FC, AFC, and a MH and qualify for 2 Am Nationals.  But best of all, he was my buddy and a world class gun dog.

Many other notable dogs taught me much over the years including GRHRCH Boot QA2 who never failed an HRC test including 2 Grands.  Boot passed his first Grand the week he turned 2 and completed his title at 2 1/2 years old.
